The world may not eventually consider this an actual apocalypse — depending on the source — because the zombies in question only threatened one man. Their focus wasn't on live fresh humans in general, they had a hankering for one particular type... flesh that was attached to our extremely, so unbelievably charismatic and to mention impossibly smart protagonist. But let me tell you, Reyes was no pushover...
